How to use Google AdWords to sell out tickets for your next event

Want to really get the ball rolling on ticket sales for your next event?

Why not invest in a PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising campaign with Google AdWords?

Google AdWords works off of the same basic principles as SEO (Search Engine Optimization) except that these are paid search results and you only have to pay if someone clicks on your ad. But it’s totally worth it if that click turns into another ticket sold!

In order to get the most out of your AdWords campaign you’re going to need to select the right keywords. Keywords are usually multi-word terms or phrases that are relevant to your business. In this case you would want to select terms that are relevant both to your business and your event. A bit of local flavor wouldn’t be a bad idea either – simply include the name of the city or town where your event is being held. This would turn “Business party” into “Business party Anytown” and so on.

With the right keywords you can drive targeted traffic to your website or to a special page just for online event registration and ticket sales. It’s entirely up to you!

If you are using Google AdWords you can take advantage of their Keyword Tool to select just the right keywords for your campaign. Simply input the terms you are considering and see how competitive they are and what kind of monthly search volume they receive. The ideal keywords will be lower competition, higher volume terms. In the end you know your target audience so go with your instincts when choosing the keywords to power your AdWords campaign to sell tickets to your next event!
