A day for all Australians to understand the unique advantages of the traditional Mediterranean food and lifestyle for health and wellbeing. 

Learn how to COOK – EAT – LIVE for chronic disease reduction in our community, by following the easy and delicious Mediterranean way of life. or all Australians to understand the unique advantages of the traditional Mediterranean food and lifestyle for health and wellbeing. 

Dietitians Desi Carlos and Lisa Peterson of Two Greek Girls Cooking showcase a fantastic day at Brisbane’s Greek Club, where you can taste, learn and explore the scientifically proven Mediterranean diet and learn all about our Mediterranean culture and approach to life.

Our passion is to help all Australians cook, eat and live simply and healthily with a wonderful Mediterranean diet rich in flavour and nutrients and a lifestyle which embraces family and community.

This is our second year running this event. Last year was a huge success. See our gallery below for

What's happening 2019?

We have presentations from a wide range of medical experts, as well as more fantastic stalls to learn about eating well for health and a long life. This year, we are bringing back many of our wonderful speakers from 2018, and also have some new faces. Our speakers will hone in on the benefits of this diet for preventing diabetes, cancer, heart problems, brain diseases, digestive and blood disorders and promoting better mental health and women's health, from specialists in their fields. 

Far from being just a health seminar, this is a total immersion in the wonders of Mediterranean living. We give you the chance to try some amazing local Greek produce for yourself with a selection of food stalls and the Greek Club’s restaurant Taverna offering deliciously healthy Greek food, wine and coffee. 

We also have a range of wonderful speakers and entertainers ready to welcome you into the Greek community. In true Mediterranean style, we offer plenty of fun too!nar, this is a total immersion in the wonders of Mediterranean living. We give you the chance to try some amazing local Greek produce for yourself with a selection of food stalls and the Greek Club’s restaurant Taverna offering deliciously healthy Greek food, wine and coffee. 

Doors open from 10:00 am - and your ticket entitles you to come and go as you please based on your session interest, or stay all day! Expo closes at 4:00 pm. 

This year, we have popped in a few stall and coffee breaks so you can hear speakers and have time to browse without missing a thing!

Lisa and Desi are Brisbane based dietitians and nutritionists with over 30 years combined experience in private practice. Their vision with Two Greek Girls Cooking is to educate and inspire all generations and ethnicities in Australia to encompass a scientifically proven way of eating based on the Mediterranean diet. This promotes the enjoyment of delicious food, at the same time as providing high nutrition for long-term health. Their lifestyle book Mediterranean Eating Cook-Eat-Live (available online and through selected bookshops) is a comprehensive plan for adopting the Mediterranean lifestyle as the optimal way to live for chronic disease prevention and longevity. Her breadth of experience has included being a regular guest speaker and host on 96.5FM Talking Life, providing workplace, community and school-based programs and contributing to books, newspapers and magazines.

Andrea is a PhD candidate with the School of Dentistry at the University of Queensland and lectures there. Andrea has been involved in the publication of several studies involving oral health and oral microbiol. She was awarded a Master of Philosophy for her research into differential gene expression associated with immune response pathways to oral candida albicans infection. Andrea is of proud Greek heritage, and a serving member of the Australasian Hellenic Education Progressive Association.
