Travis County - Old San Antonio Road Hike at the Estancia property Partial Approval - Free

Walk along the Travis County – Old San Antonio Road at the Estancia property to look at development opportunities and to learn about the history of the site in relation to the trail. The walk will occur between 9 AM and 10 AM and will be about 1.5 miles in length. We will meet at the trailhead on Estancia Parkway just north of its intersection with Pittsburgh Drive. The trailhead is located at coordinates 30.12082, -97.809329 next to the large retention pond.

Hike at McKinney Falls State Park Partial Approval - Free

Hike at McKinney Falls State Park exploring routes of the trail through the park and historic resources associated with it. We will meet at 11 AM at the Lower Falls trailhead. The hike will last approximately two hours and include about four miles of walking. (Additional standard entry rates to the state park will apply, $6 per adult.)

Camino Crankie artistic performance Partial Approval - Free

Camino Crankie artistic performance at the McKinney Falls Camino Real Visitor Center. Artists and ElCaT volunteers Brian Beattie and Valerie Fowler will be performing an original artwork on various Camino histories via song and an artistic display. The performance will begin at 1:30 PM and conclude by 2:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to tour the new Camino Real visitor's center afterwards. Donations for our Onion Creek Metro Park historic research and archaeological project will be accepted. (Additional standard entry rates to the state park will apply, $6 per adult.)

Lunch with ElCaT Members and Representatives Partial Approval - Free

Join in on a sandwich sack lunch from Antone's Deli. Lunches will be provided free of charge after our hike at McKinney Falls. Donations to the Association will be accepted!

Join us for guided-hikes in the Austin area and an artistic performance based on histories of the Camino Real!  The hikes will take place at the Estancia Development along the Travis County - Old San Antonio Road and at McKinney Falls State Park.  The artistic performance will also take place at the state park. 

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM:  Walk along the Travis County - Old San Antonio Road

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM:  Hike McKinney Falls State Park and explore Camino resources within the park

1:00 PM - 1:45 PM:  Sack lunch with ElCaT members and representatives

2:00 PM - 2:30 PM:  Camino Crankie artistic performance at McKinney Falls - Camino Real Visitor's Center 

Afterwards explore the newly opened visitor's center on your own!
