Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, 374 East Paces Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta, GA, 30305, United States.

From 2013-2019 – bpmNEXT was the most talked-about and most thoroughly enjoyed event in the field of Digital Transformation and Intelligent Automation. Each year a rarefied group of innovators assembled from 20+ countries worldwide – CEOs, CTOs, and technologist not only learn, but ultimately define “WHAT’S NEXT!”

Over the past decade, bpmNEXT was both a proving ground and launch pad for the innovations which defined Intelligent Automation – from early applications of AI and blockchain, to process mining and workforce analytics, to the evolution of DMN and Decision Automaton, as well as RPA and Digital Workers.  Year after year, our community set agenda for the year ahead – while also fostering more M&A activity, more joint ventures, more startups, more innovations, and more new relationships than any event in our space.

For 2024 bpmNEXT is back – and judging from the response to this year’s event already, we are confident it will again prove itself as the definitive showcase what’s next in Intelligent Automation – including Agentic AI, DMN and Decision Automation, Enterprise Modeling, Explainable AI (XAI) and Ethical Automation, GenAI, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Platform Engineering, Serverless Computing, Process Orchestration, Smart Cities, Task & Process Mining, and Work Intelligence.

As always, we kept the PowerPoint to a bare minimum (just 5 minutes following the Ignite protocol). Presentations are instead live demos of the latest technology, some of it still in the lab. Participants don’t just hear about it, but see it, touch it, and influence it

In the meantime -- you can see it for yourself.  The videos of the keynotes and technology demonstrations for the entire history of bpmNEXT are online

BpmNEXT

The brainchild of Bruce Silver and Nathaniel Palmer, both well-known industry thought leaders, bpmNEXT is a journey into the future of Intelligent Automation and related technologies. See it, engage with it, shape it. Part TED, part DEMO, part Think Tank, bpmNEXT is not your usual tech conference. It is a uniquely collaborative event for people already immersed in the field – business and IT executives, technology vendors, academics, practitioners, analysts, investors – who know what’s out there today... and are hungry for WHAT’S COMING NEXT. Not just to hear about it, but see it in action and engage with the pioneers creating it. The perspective is FORWARD-LOOKING: bpmNEXT has consistently been the defining launch pad for the ideas and innovations surrounding technology-led business process innovation. Presentations are not case studies of past successes, but vision statements on where we need to go next. The format is LIVELY: bpmNEXT presentations are always about showing not telling. The presentation format is strictly enforced, with 5-minute followed by live demos and interactive Q&A, plus scheduled breaks for one- on-one deep dives. As always, bpmNEXT 2024 is an all-inclusive event. Registration includes admission to the event, as well as receptions and meals plus three night’s stay at the Kimpton Sylvan Hotel (meals include lunch and dinner on Wednesday, as well as breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Wednesday, plus receptions on Wednesday and Thursday evenings

Presentation Format and Dates

bpmNEXT presentations are always about “showing not telling.” The presentation format is strictly enforced:

  • 5-minute introduction in the Ignite presentation format (20 slides exactly, automatically advanced every 15 seconds)
  • 15-minute live demo from your laptop or mobile device (absolutely no slideware)
  • 10-minute Q&A

As always, the demand for speaking slots exceeds the number we have available. This year we are going to announce the program agenda in early September, so if you are interested in securing a slot, you need to act fast. Our initial submission review is July 15, 2024.

Submission Deadlines

  • June 15, 2024: Call for Papers Opens
  • July 15, 2024: First stage of submission review
  • July 22, 2024: Notification of provisional acceptance (see below)

Submission Details

In the submission form (see "Call for Papers" tab above) you provide the title of your proposed presentation and tell us what problem you solve, how your approach is better than what is available today, and when and in what form it will be available to customers. You must also agree that except for a 5-minute introduction in the Ignite format, your presentation will be entirely a live demo (running software, no slides).

“Provisional acceptance” of your submission means that you are accepted into the program, conditional on a satisfactory “preview demo” of your proposed session, as well as your Ignite presentation, at a date to be scheduled after August 30, 2024.

Upon provisional acceptance you will be considered part of the program and will be asked to provide a final bio, session abstract, headshot photo, and company logo. At this time we will also provide an event preparation checklist, including general information on format and expectation, and schedule your online preview demo.

While our final submission deadline is August 16th, it is advantageous to submit by July 15th, at which time we will conduct our first round of submission evaluations for purposes of categorization and ranking.

Also, just to reiterate, final acceptance is conditional on your presentation of the demo (and Ignite intro) to our program committee by November 8, 2024.
