Adult Sailing Program (Ages 18+)
This course is great opportunity to try sailing for the first time or jump on board again. Designed for the beginning sailor, the course seeks to provide active learning of the skills and knowledge needed to be a sailboat owner and pursue the lifelong enjoyment of sailing.
The course will be taught in Flying Scot class boats made possible in part through the support of the Flying Scot Foundation. Students will learn everything from launching and retrieving a boat on a trailer, to rigging, to departing and returning from a dock, to the most basic of sailing skills all while actually sailing the boat. Seamanship and safety are always stressed. Some classroom instruction will occur when necessary to clarify and build upon on the water experiences.
-Class size is limited to 8 students per course section. Refunds will be offered if a session is cancelled due to low enrollment.
-Class starts at 6 p.m. and ends around 8/8:30 p.m.
-All Students are required to have a life jacket.
- In the event of a cancelation due to weather the class will typically be rescheduled the succeeding week on the first day of a scheduled session.
