A Benefit Car Show featuring the Ford Mustang. This fundraiser will be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2018. The car show / fundraiser was established to provide funds to support Habitat for Humanity and other local charities. It is run by a core group of friends that wanted to give-back to the community. The organization is 100% volunteer and all net proceeds return to the community.
Friday at Mac's Drive-in
Come on out to Mac's Drive-in Restaurant, a 50's era drive-in restaurant with authentic carhops and casual food. Mac's is located on Routes 5 & 20 in Waterloo, NY. There is always a great grouping of nice cars on Friday nights. Have some great food and enjoy the cars.
Due to the NASCAR race scheduled at The Glen there will be no Thunder Road Tour this year.
Saturday Car Show and Parade
Registration opens for the Mustang Rally Car Show. The car show is a fun event to show off your Pony, meet new friends and visit with old friends. Judging for our different classes is done by a group of volunteers who will jointly decide which car, in each class, outshines the rest. No formal judging forms are used. Car Show registration opens at 9:00 Saturday morning with the event running from 10:00 am to the award ceremony at 3:00 pm. At 3:30 the show cars are lined up and participate in the 52nd Anniversary Phelps Saurkraut Weekend Parade. The Mustangs will be lined up two abreast and be featured at the front of the parade. At the end of the parade the cars are welcomed back to the Rally grounds to watch the remainder of the parade, meet with friends, have a cook-out or park to enjoy other Sauerkraut Weekend events. Pre-registration is $25. Day of show registration is $30. Pleas see the registration sheet for the different judging classes you would like to be included in. Car Show rain date is August 5th. Breakfast will be available from 9-11.
Sunday Poker Run and BBQ
Our Poker Run is back! The 100+ mile loop begins at 10:00 am and winds itself through three counties. You can start on your own or join a group leaving from the Car Show grounds. Participating cars need to be checked back in by 3:00 pm at the Phelps American Legion. Card hands will be tallied and cash prizes awarded. After the Poker Run enjoy a Chicken BBQ hosted by the Phelps American Legion. The Poker Run is open to all makes and model cars, bikes and trucks.
