Session 1 – Panel
Setting the scene for the conference, airline industry thought leaders will discuss the vital issues facing the sector today and look back at progress over the past year.
Have efforts to decarbonise accelerated or slowed down and what are the major challenges that lie ahead?
What can airlines do to help boost the investment in and production and supply of SAF and e-SAF. Are SAF mandates the answer and what other policy levers are required?
To what extent has the focus shifted towards industry action on aviation’s non-CO2 climate impact and compliance with ICAO’s CORSIA international offsetting scheme?

Shashank Nigam, CEO, Simpliflying (Moderator)
Session 3 – Panel
Held every three years, recent ICAO Assemblies have seen landmark decisions reached on agreeing a scheme to offset the growth of emissions from international aviation (CORSIA) and, more recently, the adoption of a Net Zero emissions by 2050 target (LTAG).
Within ICAO, moves to address non-CO2 emissions have gained traction but have Member States shown interest? Did States formalise an agreement reached at ICAO’s CAAF/3 conference on a 2030 target for SAF uptake?
Can ICAO’s Finvest Hub, formally launched at A42, unlock much needed finance for global SAF production?
While ICAO has firmly rejected calls for a global levy on air transport, aimed at raising money to help developing countries deal with climate impacts, a number of countries and organisations will be pushing the issue at COP30. Does a global solidarity levy have merit?
The session will also look at developments at COP30 that might have implications for the CORSIA credits market.

The EU’s policy initiative ReFuelEU Aviation, introduced an incremental SAF blending mandate that affects all airlines flying to and from Europe. This session will look at how the mandate is faring:
Can it be considered a success so far ?
What have been its impacts on SAF use, production and on airlines?
Is its framework sufficient to attract investment and ramp up production?
What other instruments are required to stimulate investment, production and use of SAF?
The panel will discuss the EU’s long-awaited Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP) to derisk investment and bring down the cost of SAF to users. It will also consider whether other mechanisms are required.

Established under the ReFuelEU Aviation regulation, the new voluntary EU Flight Emissions Label (FEL) aims to provide passengers with information on flight-related emissions, allowing them to make informed decisions when booking and comparing flights.
Airlines from both EU and non-EU countries covered by ReFuelEU can join the FEL. The European Commission and EASA are encouraging airlines to join, thereby increasing environmental transparency for passengers whilst ensuring that flight emissions information accurately reflects SAF uplifted by the participating airlines.
This session will demonstrate how the FEL works.

Session 11 – Panel
Although most of the world’s focus on aviation decarbonisation is in the commercial aviation sector, military aviation often leads the way in numerous innovations, from alternative fuels and novel aircraft design, to improving operational efficiency and reducing engine emissions. Many of these initiatives have multiple strategic benefits, such as fuel security, supply chain resilience and platform performance advantages.
This panel will discuss how these concepts are becoming core to the planning and operations of many modern air forces around the world, as they align on their country’s long-term defence and climate goals, and how some of these initiatives are being adopted by commercial aviation.

Session 12 – Presentation
Sustainable aviation fuel is more than an environmental commitment – it’s a strategic investment. This presentation will show how effective management, transparent claims and accurate reporting of SAF can unlock cost savings, reduce compliance risks under EU ETS and CORSIA, and strengthen the business case for future SAF adoption.

Session 14 – Presentation
Demand for SAF is surging. And yet, production is lagging far behind. Only a few dozen commercial-scale SAF projects worldwide have reached final investment decision as developers continue to face a familiar barrier: lack of access to low-cost capital.
This presentation will share two new resources to achieve ‘bankability’ that offer the potential to accelerate investment in SAF and other harder to abate sectors, too.

Session 15 – Panel
Aircraft operators are now required to purchase CORSIA Eligible Emissions Units (EEUs) to offset a portion of their verified emissions for qualifying flights.
Due to the international nature and complexity surrounding eligibility, currently only EEUs from Guyana are available and there is a predicted shortfall of 7 to 14 times the demand by 2032, adding to a pressure on prices.
This session will inform operators on the latest developments and predictions concerning the demand and pricing of EEUs.

Session 19 – Presentation
In an era transformed by AI and ledger technologies, ETS markets are still stuck in the past. Their infrastructure is outdated and as a result, access is fragmented, costly, and inefficient. For airlines and other regulated participants, this inefficiency comes at a price: higher transaction costs, limited transparency, and slower access to market opportunities.
This presentation explores how new technology can modernise emissions trading, making participation faster, fairer and more efficient. From exchange architecture to automation, it will highlight how innovation can reduce friction and cost, bringing the EU carbon market in line with the standards of today’s digital financial systems and enabling capital to be directed toward decarbonisation.
Nicolas Bigotte, Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer, Initiativ
