Zandermania will return to the Gloucester Canal in 2026!!
THE EVENT
We are delighted to return to the Gloucester and Sharpness Shipping Canal in Gloucestershire with the relaunch and 11th edition of Zandermania Street. The canal is a little over 16 miles in length with an average depth of 12 foot the quality of the Zander fishing is on a par with anything else available in the country. Over the years we have had multiple large Zander caught during competitions up to 14+lb, the Gloucester canal has never been an easy venue but if you can crack the code there is nowhere better and the atmosphere and excitement at our events is second to none.
The 2026 event will be held along the entire length of the canal which provides around 16 miles of fishing. Anglers will compete as individuals for their chance to be crowned Zandermania Street Champion and may fish in pairs if they wish, the individual who manages to catch the longest combined length of 5 Zander will win!!
Hot food will be served before and after the competition, anglers will arrive at event HQ to check in and be provided with an official measure and sponsor goody bag, following the match breifing the competition will start. Anglers are permitted to drive to any start location along the competition stretch or start on foot from HQ. If starting on foot anglers will take part in the draw, anglers driving may leave and have 30mins to make their way to their starting points. When the competition is finshed we will meet back at event HQ for hot food and great company whilst the scores are verified and the awards and prize giving will follow.
We intend to make this the largest predator street event held in the UK with a limit of 120 places as well as 20 junior places! Junior anglers will be limited to a designated section and will compete in their own category to be crowned Junior Champion, all junior anglers must have a parent or guardian present during the competition, maximum age for junior entry 14 years.
The scoring will of course be done via the Angling Live app the best in the business known for its accuracy and user friendly design, anglers will recieve a user name and pin prior to the competition. If you have not yet used this app don't worry, a practice will be arranged prior and we are on hand to assist with any queries.

PRIZE FUND
Prizes will be awarded to the Top 10 anglers, trophies will be presented to the Top 3 and Longest Zander plus we are putting up £500.00 cash and exclusive winner’s jersey for the Champion!!!
Medals and prizes will be awarded to all Juniors and the Junior Champion will be presented with a trophy and their very own exclusive winner's jersey!!

SUMMERY OF EVENT RULES
- All competitors must carry their EA Rod License with them during the competition
- Fishing is with lures only
- Each angler may only fish with one rod at a time (although they may carry as many rods as they wish)
- Each angler may only use one lure at a time (no multi-lure rigs)
- All anglers must carry a suitable unhooking mat and net.
- Anglers must photograph all fish caught on the fish measure provided (on an unhooking mat), pictures need to be taken with the Zander flat on the measure nose to the left and measured to the tip of the tail and submitted via the Angling Live app.
- All measurements are rounded down to the nearest cm.
- The winner will be decided by which individual catches the longest combined length of five Zander.
- The organiser's decision is final.
EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The organisers, Zandermania, will have absolute control and discretion over the competition, rules and terms and conditions.
- The organisers reserve the right to modify all or part of the rules and T&Cs at any time.
- Zandermania rules abide by and include all relevant local rules.
- All competitors understand that they must provide organisers with all required documents & EA License as a condition of entry in the event.
- All competitors will be required to sign a registration form and event disclaimer to confirm acceptance of the full and final event rules and terms & conditions.
- Competition rules also include the terms & conditions. All offences will be reported to the organisers and dealt with in accordance with their seriousness and may lead to disqualification.
- Organisers will use competitor’s image at their sole discretion on any support material they deem appropriate at any the time from acceptance of entry in the event.
- English is the official language of Zandermania.
- Official time format is 24 hours and all times mentioned are local times
- Official measurement is centimetres (cm)
- If for any reason you can no longer attend the event, refunds are at organiser discretion and will depend upon circumstances and the ability to re-sell your ticket, deposits are non-refundable.
- Should the event need to be postponed by the organiser due to unforeseen circumstances such as extreme weather conditions, your place will be held and moved to the revised date to be arranged within a 12-month period of the existing event. No refunds will be given unless due to exceptional circumstances and agreed by the event organisers. If the event is not run within 12 months of the original date a full refund will be issued.
