For this unique experience, we have transformed our "Brown Table" discussion into a day camp, tailored specifically for Black youth to think creatively and discuss what it means to be Black in America. Writers will participate in icebreakers with their peers, storytelling, and be introduced to daily affirmations designed to encourage healthy self-thought. This experience will be an honest (albeit age-appropriate) conversation on sensitive topics such as: racism, systemic racism, anti-Blackness, respectability politics, and micro-aggression. We want offer a safe space with Black youth can unpack their feelings and offer their thoughts on the things happening in our nation and to our community. Please note: Due to COVID-19, all group sessions are currently being held virtual platforms only.
