IStructE Young Members Regional Committee is inviting you to an online Workshop by Dr. Mustafa Batikha.
This workshop aims to increase the awareness of using structural software toward professionalism. In this workshop, the SAP2000 structural tool will be used as an example.
Using structural software is not an option anymore in the structural engineering profession. It is not only for efficient use of time. It is also to solve complex problems away from the simplicity assumed by a manual calculation in which it may cause a non-economic design. Therefore, having structural software use skills is a mandatory condition in the industry.
However, it is so important that the structural software is guided professionally, and the user has the capability to validate the results. Otherwise, it may cause either an unsafe design or an overestimate in the material. The first option will lead to loss of life, whereas the second possibility will bring an uneconomical impact.
Important Note:
Ensure that you have an installed version of SAP200 on your computers before the workshop, there will be simple examples during the workshop, to help maintain maximum output for the attendees.
