Improving botanists
Students can partake in this workshop at a reduced rate of €20. This requires that a student be prepared to show an student identification card upon request.

Attendees will visit a working farm with nature conservation at its core for this workshop. You will be guided through the identification of wildflower species that are grouped within the family of Asteraceae, or the Daisy family. Following an introduction to branch of wildflowers and their main botanical features, there will be an opportunity to view and examine collected specimens from the field, some examples of which might include dandelions and their many various cousins, knapweeds, and thistles (amongst others). Participants will then explore the rich variety of habitats to be found on Jamestown Nature Reserve, attempting to identify the Asteraceae species that one finds during their ramble.
