ADAPT WORKSHOP on:
“SEISMIC ANALYSIS & DESIGN OF POST TENSIONED STRUCTURES”
CPD Points: 13
2nd & 3rd August 2017 –Jakarta, Indonesia
Workshop oriented to help the structural engineer understand the concepts of analysis and design of Post-tensioning (PT) buildings in Seismic Zone
A Must-Attend Event for Structural Engineers, Post-Tensioning Inspectors, Contractors, Civil Engineers interested in Post Tensioned Design and Construction.
Through a theoretical and practical approach, the engineer will be able to master the engineering concepts of prestressed structures and develop analytical skills to tackle post-tensioning design.
Please reserve your seat to ensure that you can avail of the opportunity to witness the latest advances in ADAPT’s Builder Technology making it the preferred choice for Modelling, Analysis & Design of RCC/PT Multistoried Buildings or Concrete Structures! Our workshop aims at addressing not only High-rise buildings but also the needs of engineers engaged in the field of Public Infrastructure (Parking structures, hospitals, stadiums etc) as well as the educational community.
ADAPT's Builder Suite of Software is globally recognised for its rich and powerful features that have changed the way engineers undertake Modelling, Analysis and Design of Concrete structures. ADAPT-Builder 2016 suite offers industry's only fully integrated solution for design of concrete buildings.
Course Objective:
The participant will be able to:
- Understand the benefits and limitations of post-tensioned design.
- Model, Analyze, and Design post-tensioned elevated slabs.
- Understand the results of finite element programs regarding post-tensioning.
-Evaluate the effects of gravity and lateral forces in post-tensioned building.
- Understand the importance of hyperstatic forces originating from post-tensioning floors.
-Evaluate thermal loads producing volumentric changes in post-tensioned buildings.
-Observe the flow of in-plane forces in a post-tensioned diaphragm.
Course Content
The participant will work with the instructor in a step by step hands-on approach to model, analyse and design a PT building including:
- Brief introduction to post-tensioning systems
- Review of the current codes regarding post-tensioned design.
- Preliminary tendon modelling using balance loading and minimum pre-compression.
- Discussion on thermal and lateral loading input.
- Requirements of post-tensioning systems for cyclic loading.
- Load combinations that include hyperstatic forces for design of vertical elements.
- Creation of load paths using support lines.
- Interpretation of design strip results.
- Corroboration of results with allowable code values.
- Stresses and Forces flow through the slab plane.
- Requirement for diaphragm design.
Participants will receive:
