Seward Park Co-op, 266 E. Broadway, New York, NY 10002, New York, NY, 266, New York, NY, 10002, United States.

We’re learning how to protect animals and wildlife habitats in this round the world exploration of hands-on crafts, 3D design, animation, and drone flying. We’ll choose the national parks we want to protect and then craft mini-ecosystems to explore exotic plants, precious water systems and species, old growth forests, piping hot geysers, and miles-long mushrooms! We’ll go to Drone Pilot School and take on park ranger missions like fire prevention, new species research, and search and rescue missions. We’re designing buildings and ships to preserve endangered species and we’ll craft exotic bird feeders, 3D design insects and animals with habitat-adapting mutations, our own adventure pet partner and rocket ships to transport them with Tinkercad and Roblox, press exotic flowers into our keepsake journals, and draw and animate animal family crests. Let’s get outside and discover the wonders of the wild!

Projects we’ll Create!

  • Hands-on Creative Arts & Engineering: design your own animal print designs for a fashion show, create mesmerizing natural art with blown paint. Create a sample collection with rocks and plants that are in the area, a pressed flora journal, and a bird feeder for exotic species! Design and test a bird's nest protects from harsh weather and predators. Design clay prototypes and then 3D design an artificial insect that aids irrigation and fights blights on our farms.

  • 3D Printing Pen Hands-on Designs: Hand-draw and build 3D printed designs and models of endangered species like sea turtles and zoo animals with the 3D pen as they are in real life. Create 3D shapes, characters and experiment with 3D patterns.

  • Piskel Animation: Animate a super funny 8-bit crab character and a group of zoo animal-avatar frame by frame animations with Piskel.

  • Drone Pilot School: We’ll go to Drone Pilot School and take on park ranger missions like new species research and fire prevention, and compete in friendly races to practice timed search and rescue missions.

  • Roblox Worldbuilding: Design buildings to preserve life in different environments, a ship to transport life forms from Earth to other planets and vice versa and create your own animal companion friend to help you on your journey.

  • Scratch Coding:  Create your own interactive zoo game with the 3D printed species that you built.
