Smart and Sexy Lingerie
As a sculpting student in NYC, Smart&Sexy CEO and Founder Ariela had no intention to be a starving artist. At just 19 years old she started working as an assistant at an underwear company and in just six short weeks, moved her way into sales. Unable to stand behind the product she was pitching, she insisted on designing everything that she sold. She realized that with the right lingerie she had the power to transform the way women looked at and felt about themselves, so she traded in her clay for curves. At 21 years old with just $15,000, she started working on her first business plan. Six years later Ariela & Associates was born followed by Smart&Sexy.
Small Business Center, Halifax Community College
The NC Community Colleges Small Business Center Network (SBCN) is the state's largest state-supported small business assistance initiative. Started in 1984 with the funding of eight small business centers by the North Carolina General Assembly, by 1995 at least one Small Business Center was established at each of the 58 community colleges. At the core of its vision, the Small Business Center Network is positioned to focus on entrepreneurship, small business and economic development with an emphasis on assisting start-ups, early stage, and businesses seeking disaster assistance or seeking to stabilize. Our unique structure allows ease of access and unparalleled knowledge of and linkages within local communities. We collaborate with Federal, State and local entities to help business owners get the most current information needed to start and successfully operate their enterprises.
Transforming Lives & Restoring Hope, Inc.
Transforming Lives and Restoring Hope (TLRH), Inc. was born out of a desire to provide renewed hope to those who have been adversely impacted by struggles, hardships, challenges, and abuse. The underlying foundation that TLRH operates from is the belief that just as systematic forces have created hopelessness – a systematic approach can restore. Dr. Stephanie Hampton Credle is the founder and Executive Director of TLRH. She was divinely inspired to establish TLRH after a personal transformation of her own. With the inherent belief that what was possible for her would be possible for others, Stephanie has developed a holistic program that is based on proven principles. TRLH is based out of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina and has outreach programs in southeastern Virginia. TLRH is a nonprofit organization that targets individuals and communities that are socially, economically, and educationally disadvantaged. TLRH is also dedicated to providing personal growth and development to women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities.
