Wildflower Walk
April 25, 2019
Although not far from Cleveland, Medina County possess a rural flavor and boasts a wonderful park system. We will spend the day in a few of the park system’s hidden jewels seeking out spring wildflowers. Late April brings an explosion of all the wildflower favorites: several species of trillium, squirrel-corn, dutchman’s-breeches, trout lily, hepatica, spring beauty are all in abundance and will delight your senses and your sensors. These vernal floral displays are breathtaking; some of the most spectacular wildflower carpets in the state, offering endless compositional possibilities.
Itinerary
We will meet early morning to start our flora quest. The natural trails that we will traverse are easy to navigate and no longer than a mile and a half in length. We will maintain a leasurely pace, taking care to note all species of wildflowers we run across, and doing our best to capture grand floral displays with our cameras.
Lunch as a group at a local restaurant and then to another park for different species. Another easy nature trail a mile in length will submerge us into an entirely new palette of wildflowers. (Lunch included)

Health Considerations
Most of our trips will involve elements of physical activity easily accomplished by the average person in good health. While some of our locations are near a road or parking lot, some are not. PLEASE be sure you are comfortable walking over uneven rocky terrain with your gear for 30 – 45 minutes at a time. We may shoot at all hours of the day and night (we try to take advantage of the best weather and light conditions), which may not be typical for some participants. Specific considerations are included in the description of each workshop/tour.
Medical circumstances or emergencies do not constitute grounds for exception to the cancellation policy. Therefore, trip cancellation and interruption insurance is recommended.
Smoking is not permitted in group vehicles, during meals, and at other times when secondhand smoke can affect the health and comfort of others.

Information about what is included/not included are summarized in the individual descriptions of each workshop/tour.
