Skip Photoshop and Process RAW Infrared Photos Directly in Adobe Lightroom!
It's a well-known adage that ACR/Lightroom has fundamental issues when it comes to native processing digital raw photos from infrared converted cameras. However, after spending the last two years researching and refining my techniques, I have created a complete infrared editing workflow using Adobe Lightroom Classic. This workflow operates on all infrared photos, including all the major filter types (720/665/590 and more).
With my approach to infrared processing, you'll be able to properly set white balance on color infrared images, extract richer colors from your photos, and perform techniques that were once restricted to Adobe Photoshop, like channel-swapping and hue shifts. By skipping the trip to Photoshop, you can edit your infared photos in an entirely raw and non-destructable workspace.
