The Tucson Area Firearms Instructors are hosting a Secondary and Backup weapon transition school on Tuesday, April 19, at 0800 hours, and May 25, 2016, at 1300 hours, at the Three Points Range.
This class is for any sworn trooper who has personally purchased a secondary or backup weapon listed on the Approved Secondary and Backup Weapons List.
Secondary: You must have at least two magazines. You will also be required to have the secondary holster system with you for the class as well as a mag pouch.
Backup: You will be required to have a minimum of two magazines for semi-automatic weapons and one speed loader for revolvers. You will also be required to arrive with the holster you intend to carry on-duty (ankle, vest etc.).
An inspection will be conducted at the beginning of the class and students without the above listed items will not be allowed to continue. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE.
Students must bring all appropriate range gear, a cleaning kit, and a positive attitude. There will be approximately 1 hour of classroom time followed by 3 hours of range time. You must be present for the entire class. You must also post a passing qualification score to carry weapons on duty.
