A trauma informed relationship acknowledges that not all children have the same start in life. It recognises that some children have had adverse childhood experiences such as abuse, neglect and challenging home environments. A trauma informed relationship adjusts adult relationships so they can be a source of safety, repair, healing and positive growth for the child.
