Trauma-informed care (TIC) is an approach to engaging people with histories of trauma that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma has played in their lives. It is a mindful practice that can improve your interactions with others that requires being open to learning new things while being committed to continued work and self-awareness. In this training, we will learn TIC basics, explore how to update our language, improve our interpersonal interactions, and stay away from generalizations, bias and assumptions to provide supportive and empathetic care and services.
