Session I - Ages 7-12 10:45am - 1pm
Session II - Ages 13-17 12:45pm - 3pm
During this free 2-hour hands-on workshop, we will introduce students (ages 7-17) to the wonderful world of web design. The participants will learn about the two basic building blocks of a website, HTML and CSS. These two web design languages are the fundamental pieces required to build any website. We believe that learning how to code, is like learning to become a superhero. Through volunteer led, collaborative, youth centric, fun learning, we will guide the participants to explore technology with a unique twist. By the end of the workshop, the participants will have learned more about the terminology behind a website and will have built their own one-page website complete with text, photos, video and more! They will be able to share their one-page site with others with a dedicated link and to social media etc. We have partnered with Microsoft, Building Better Men, Red Diamond Digital and other Metro Detroit entities that are dedicated to enhancing the lives of our youth.
100 % FREE | Refreshments Provided
No kid is allowed in without parent/guardian. Parent/guardian must register at front desk upon arrival and must remain during the entirety of the workshop.
