About Dr. Lauren Stollman, DPT:
Lauren received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, MO. She was born in Denver, grew up in Kansas City, and, like a boomerang, she has returned back to Denver. She loves working with people of all ages and stages, and anyone from super-moms to high level athletes. She believes in building quality relationships with her patients, becoming a teammate and collaborator, to provide them with the best quality of care for their success in achieving their goals.
"In addition to treating sports and typical orthopedic conditions, I choose to specialize in providing care for women’s health and pelvic floor. It took me way too long before I went to seek pelvic floor physical therapy for myself, and I struggled to admit to myself that I should seek help, hoping that everything would just spontaneously get better with time. Once I got the care that I needed, I became inspired to create a new normal of talking about pelvic pain and function, as pelvic health is physical health and mental health. Throughout my physical therapy practice, I have heard so many times “I had to stop [insert favorite activity/sport here] after I had kids because of pelvic pain or leakage” and many women accept this for the rest of their lives, giving up their stress outlet, their enjoyment, their community. My mission is to empower women to challenge this idea, because there are so many things we can do through pelvic floor physical therapy to make real differences to get you back to what you love without fear. Additionally, I have worked with many women who have undergone breast surgeries, including full or partial mastectomies with or without reconstruction, who have experienced chronic significant changes in their function due to scar tissue and tightness, leading to pain or dysfunctions in other areas of the body, making it difficult to “ace” your golf game or even reach up to a high shelf. In learning about their experiences, I have discovered that post-surgical management in this area is significantly lacking, often due to lack of communication or expectations about the significant effects that these surgeries can have on one’s mobility. I work to educate as many people as I can about the importance of seeking care for this so that women, like you, do not have to accept this as a fact of life.
KinetikChain fosters an environment of excellence in which I can take the time to understand each person’s story, finding out what matters most in my patient’s life, so that I can provide treatment options and information, and then work efficiently and effectively to get them back to what they love. Their goals are truly my goals, YOUR goals are truly my goals."
