Students that are interested in STEM or tech careers outside of "coding" are invited to take part in a virtual hands-on STEMinar!
At this event each student will learn what makes data good, bad, or ugly. We believe this is an important skill as there is a lot of data out there, but so much of it isn't actually credible!
Participants will leave with an understanding of how to identify bad or ugly data visualizations in our day-to-day, and tools on how they can use data clearly in school assignments and other projects in real life.
What will you need to participate in this event
1. Computer with internet connectivity
2. A camera and microphone to be able to share work
3. A notebook and markers/crayons/colored pencils (in place of computers)
Targeted at young women grades 5-8, but any student is welcomed.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is at 11am Pacific Time / 1pm Central Time / 2pm Eastern Time
