The Technology of Self-Healing using Bacteria was innovated by microbiologist Dr.HM Jonkers In 2010 at the Delft University of Technology. After founding the company Green-Basilisk in 2014, self-healing concrete became available for the market. The Self-Healing material (concrete of the future) proved to be a game changer in the market from the day it was launched.

In this Talk, the speaker is going to introduce this material performance and durability giving examples and applications to the Self-Healing concrete.

Dr. Henk Jonkers obtained his PhD in Marine Microbiology at Groningen University (1999) and worked until 2006 as research scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen and chairs since then as Associate Professor the Sustainability group within the Materials & Environment section at the CEG Faculty of the Delft University of Technology.
