This is a three-hour field trip led by Dr. Brad Biglow and Dr. Wesley Moody. Dr. Biglow is a anthropologist who has extensive knowledge of the indigenous peoples of North East Florida. Dr. Moody is a historian with multiple published books that focus on armed conflicts of the U.S. South. This pair of experts will lead teachers on a tour of Fort Caroline. You will learn about the indigenous people who once called Jacksonville home and the bloody conflict between the Spanish and the French. Why so much conflict in this spot? Why does it continue to be a dynamic place? Come and find out! Lunch and materials will be provided.
