Get ready for an exhilarating journey through the finance world at the Teach Students Money Expo (TSME)! This is not your typical expo; it's an engaging adventure designed to empower students aged 13-18 with essential financial knowledge for their future. TSME uniquely reflects the economic landscape of Central Florida, immersing students in the vibrant city of "EightVille." Here, they will experience life as 28-year-olds living in Orange County's newest district, 8, with a credit score and a monthly income aligned with their educational and career aspirations.
Amidst bustling storefronts, they'll face important choices regarding housing and budget management. Students will learn to differentiate between needs and wants in a fun, low-risk setting by navigating everyday expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, and transportation. With over 25 storefronts run by enthusiastic volunteers, they'll gain firsthand experience of adult responsibilities and the financial hurdles accompanying them.
As the simulation concludes, students will meet with financial advisors to evaluate their decisions and enhance their money management skills. TSME offers more than just an educational experience; it's an exhilarating ride toward achieving real-world financial literacy!
