Join this class to explore the vital intersection of technology, culture, and accessibility in the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Through engaging lessons, you’ll not only learn the causes and statistics of hearing disabilities, but also gain a deep appreciation for Deaf culture—both Big D and little d—and the unique modes of communication it embraces. From understanding TDD and real-time text to learning how to handle text-to-911 calls and the role of interpreters, this course equips you with the knowledge and skills to make a real difference in ensuring equal access and respectful communication for all.
