Steps to Success Using the Workshop Model in ELA

Presented by: Carol Stewart and Sarah Foley

 

This workshop will provide teachers with tools to successfully implement an ELA program based on providing whole class mini-lessons and differentiated instruction in small groups. This is very helpful if you are using Benchmark Advance/Adelante but it works well with a variety of curriculum. The focus will be on four main building blocks:

  • Classroom management and routines
  • Strategies to help students learn and practice routines
  • How to plan classroom time
  • Low prep ideas for high quality literacy activities students can do independently
