The Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) Wisconsin Chapter invites you to join us for an evening of networking, education, and scientific presentations on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel in Wauwatosa, WI.
The evening will begin with a reception featuring networking and exhibitor displays. Following welcoming remarks and dinner, Eduard Vasilevskis, MD, MPH, will present “4Ms and an H: Hospitalists and Age-Friendly Care.” The program will continue with abstract presentations and the announcement of competition winners.
Join fellow hospitalists and healthcare professionals for an engaging evening of education, research, and connection with colleagues from across the region.
Call for Abstracts
The SHM Wisconsin Chapter encourages Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, and Pediatrics residents and fellows, medical students, and APPs to participate in the chapter's Scientific Abstract Competition. There is no fee to participate.
Medical students are required to register for an SHM Medical Student membership. There are no annual membership dues for medical students.
Submission Categories: Research, Innovations, and Clinical Vignettes
Submission Deadline: Friday, October 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. CT
Submission Instructions: All poster submissions should be submitted as a PowerPoint slide deck (view an example). Examples of submission category guidelines are provided below. Questions regarding the competition may be directed to absingh@mcw.edu.

Awards
The top-scoring resident/fellow submission will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition at SHM's annual conference, Converge, taking place March 30–April 2, 2027, in Las Vegas, NV, as well as a $400 travel stipend to attend. The winner must submit their abstract through the national submission site by the November 2026 submission deadline to receive automatic acceptance.
The top-scoring medical student will receive a $400 prize, and the top-scoring APP will receive a $400 prize.
