The Wisconsin Chapter will be hosting their Scientific Abstract Competition on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. CT. Please join the chapter for an educational presentation provided by Dr. Kurt Pfeifer titled, "ACC Updates in Perioperative Guidelines" and to view the work of local Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine, IM-Pediatrics and Pediatrics Residents, Fellows and Medical Students in research, innovations and clinical research.
We hope that you are able to join us in person but if not, please join us virtually over Zoom for Dr. Pfeifer's presentation at 6:00 p.m. CT. The Zoom link will be located in your registration confirmation email.
The Society of Hospital Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
The Society of Hospital Medicine designates this in person activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Call for Abstracts
The SHM Wisconsin Chapter encourages all Internal Medicine (IM), Family Medicine, IM-Pediatrics and Pediatrics Residents, Fellows, Medical Students, and APPs to participate in the chapter's Scientific Abstract Competition. There is no fee to participate. Medical students are required to register for an SHM Medical Student membership. There are no annual membership dues for Medical Students.

Submission Deadline: Friday, November 7, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. CT

Submit your abstract through the Abstract Submission Portal.
The top-scoring resident/fellow submission will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place at SHM's annual conference, Converge, in Nashville, TN, March 29 - April 1, 2026. The winner will be required to submit their abstract to the national submission site by the November 24, 2025 submission deadline in order to be accepted. This winner will also receive a a $400 prize. The top-scoring medical student will receive a $400 prize. The top-scoring APP will receive a $400 prize.
