The SHM San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is holding an in-person event on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. PT at Steins Beer Garden in Mountain View, CA. Please join us for networking and for an educational talk titled "Updates in Hospital Medicine" provided by Sahar Taghvaei, DO, and Neal Tambe, MD, PhD.

Speakers

Dr. Sahar Taghvaei is a clinical assistant professor at the Division of Hospital Medicine at Stanford University. She obtained her medical degree from Western University, and she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. She formerly served as an assistant professor at Emory University and the University of Colorado. She has published extensively in The Hospitalist, and she is an experienced speaker in Updates in Hospital Medicine with multiple talks at regional SHM meetings.

Dr. Neal Tambe is an assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at UCSF. He obtained his medical degree and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Southern California, and he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at USC/LA. He currently serves as the associate medical director of the Stanyan Medical Service, and he is an active researcher on patient outcomes. He is the Co-Host of the Booster Shots podcast, a clinical updates podcast in hospital medicine.
