The SHM Pittsburgh Chapter will be holding an in-person event on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. ET at Rodef Shalom in Pittsburgh, PA. Please join the chapter to meet and network with other clinicians in your community and for the chapter's annual scientific abstract competition where residents and students will be showcasing their work in research, innovations, and clinical vignettes.
Call for Abstracts
The SHM Pittsburgh Chapter invites Residents and Medical Students to submit abstracts to their 8th annual Scientific Abstract Competition. All submissions should include a poster using the instructions provided below.
Submission Categories: 1. Research 2. Innovations 3. Clinical Vignettes
Submission Deadline: Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. ET

The top-scoring abstract will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place during SHM’s annual Conference, Converge, in Nashville, TN, March 29 - April 1, 2026. This winner will be required to submit their abstract to the national submission site by the November 24, 2025 deadline in order to be accepted. The top-scoring winner will also receive a complimentary registration to Converge and reimbursement for up to $1,000 in travel-related expenses. Smaller prizes will be given to runner-up winners.
