The SHM Pacific Northwest Chapter will be hosting an in-person event on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00 p.m. PT at Newcastle Golf Club in Newcastle, WA. The SHM PNW Chapter invites all members of the ACP Washington Chapter to attend. Please join to meet and network with other hospitalists in your community and for an educational presentation titled "Minimize Malpractice Risk, Maximize Patient Safety: What Every Hospitalist Must Know," provided by Dr. Farzana Hoque. This event will also feature the SHM PNW Chapter's Scientific Abstract Competition, where residents and students will be showcasing their work in research, innovations, and clinical vignettes.
Educational Objectives:
- Describe the incidence and impact of malpractice lawsuits
- Examine major drivers of malpractice litigation
- Evaluate evidence-based practices to reduce malpractice litigation risk
- 3 things to do & avoid if a hospitalist gets served with a lawsuit
