The SHM North Jersey Chapter is hosting its annual Scientific Abstract Competition on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Morton’s in Hackensack, NJ. Please join the chapter for an evening of networking and the annual competition, where fellows, residents, and medical students will showcase their work in research, innovations, and clinical vignettes.
Call for Abstracts:
The SHM North Jersey Chapter invites residents, fellows, and medical students to submit abstracts to their Scientific Abstract Competition. This is an opportunity to showcase your work in Research, Innovation, and Clinical Vignettes (RIV).
Submission Categories: 1. Research 2. Innovations 3. Clinical Vignettes
Submission Deadline: Monday, October 5, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET

Notification of Acceptance: By October 19, 2026
The first-place winner will receive automatic acceptance to the National Scientific Abstract Competition taking place during SHM’s annual Conference, Converge, in Las Vegas, NV, March 30 - April 2, 2027. This winner will be required to submit their abstract to the national submission site in order to be accepted.
The first-place winner will also receive a $500 travel stipend to attend the conference. The second-place winner will receive a $200 gift card. The third-place winner will receive a $100 gift card. The Best Original Research winner will receive a $200 gift card.
