SHM Long Island Chapter Meeting

Dr. Justin Poon, MD, FCCP, is an attending physician in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at South Shore University Hospital within Northwell Health. He completed his fellowship training at Mount Sinai Morningside-West-Beth Israel and his internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He currently serves as a core faculty member and Director of the POCUS curriculum for the Internal Medicine residency at South Shore and was named Northwell Health’s Teacher of the Year for 2025-2026. His clinical interests include the use of non-invasive ventilation for patients with acute and chronic hypercapnic respiratory failure, as well as bedside critical care ultrasonography in the medical ICU to improve patient outcomes.
