The SHM Lake Erie/Northern Ohio Chapter is holding an in-person event on Thursday, September 10th, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET at North Coast Cafe at the Intercontinental Hotel in Cleveland, OH.

Enjoy an evening of networking, dinner, and an engaging fireside chat featuring Dr. Romil Chadha and Dr. Christopher Whinney. We will share perspectives on "Technology in Medicine: Transforming Hospital Care Through Innovations", discuss current trends and challenges, and answer questions from attendees.

Whether you're a long-time member or joining us for the first time, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, enjoy a great dinner, and hear directly from two nationally recognized leaders in hospital medicine.

Speakers

Romil Chadha, MD, MBA, MPH, FACP, SFHM, CPE is the Chief Medical Information Officer and a Professor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky HealthCare. Previously, he served as Division Chief of Hospital Medicine and Medical Director for Physician Information Technology Services.  An active leader within the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) for more than a decade, Dr. Chadha currently serves as SHM's District 7 Chapter Chair. Throughout his SHM involvement, he has held numerous leadership roles across chapters, committees, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs), contributing to the advancement of hospital medicine at both the local and national levels.

Christopher Whinney, MD, FACP, SFHM, previously served as Chair of the Department of Hospital Medicine at Cleveland Clinic and currently serves on the SHM Board of Directors. He is the former Course Director for SHM Converge, has contributed to several national SHM committees and initiatives, and is widely recognized for his work in inpatient and perioperative medicine. A passionate educator and mentor, Dr. Whinney co-founded SHM's popular "MED-TED" presentation competition and has received numerous teaching and mentoring awards, including the ACP Ohio Master Teacher of the Year Award and Cleveland Clinic's Mentor of the Year Award.
