The SHM Hampton Roads Chapter is holding an in-person event on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. ET at The Boathouse in Richmond, VA. Please join us for networking and for an educational talk titled "Beyond Diuresis: Optimizing the Hospitalized Heart Failure Patient" provided by LaVone Smith, MD.

Speakers

Dr. Smith is the Medical Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and LVAD Program in the Bon Secours Richmond Market. She received her medical degree from the University of Virginia. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and completed Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure Fellowships at the University of Virginia. She has been in practice in Advanced Heart Failure for 9 years. She has special interest in cardiogenic shock and mechanical circulatory support.
