As the mountains of the Grand Teton range ascend to over 13,000 feet, they create one of the most dramatic panoramas in the Rockies. From the meandering Snake River to Aspen forests and all the wildlife activity, the ever present peaks of the Teton mountains and Mt. Moran continue to inspire photographers from all around the world.
Mountain streams cascade down the steep mountain sides to crystal clear lakes that reflect the beauty of the Teton Mountain range.
At the base of the Teton Range lies the broad valley of Jackson Hole which becomes carpeted with wild flowers in the spring and is awash with the golden yellow colors of Cottonwood and Aspen trees in the fall. Throughout the valley you will see elk, deer, moose, bison and even grizzly bears with their cubs.
At Oxbow Bend, numerous varieties of birds including trumpeter swans, Canadian geese and Sandhill cranes nest and feed in the area where the Snake River gently flows by the brillian yellow-orange Aspen trees.
And the most striking sight throughout the valley north of the town of Jackson is the brilliant yellow orange fall colors of the Cottonwood trees. This is the setting for the fall 2017 fall workshop dedicated to capturing these awe inspiring landscapes and Milky Way night sky scenes.
With expert guidance, you will be taken to the best sites to photograph Jackson Hole’s Milky Way and beautiful mountain fall colors

Recommend camera lenses
For a non-full frame camera, I recommend the Rokinon 14mm f2.8 lens or a wide angle zoom lens like the Tokina 11-18mm f2.8. In any case, the widest angle lens possible that's not a fish-eye but if you already have a fish-eye in your bag then that will work.

Testimonials from previous photo tour attendees

"I just had the pleasure of a 3 day photo workshop in the Tetons with Jerry and wanted to comment on that as a testimonial. First of all, the Tetons are one of my favorite places in the world and I have been there many times. So I was surprised to have Jerry take us to so many off-the-beaten-track locations that were new to me. He was enthusiastic about sharing these special places, as well as sharing his knowledge of how to capture the scene -- pointing out different angles and composition possibilities. He helped us to better understand our cameras and what we could do using exposure control, bracketing -- even sharing his Lee Big Stopper for long exposures using his remote switch. And most useful to me, he helped simplify the evaluation and interpretation of histograms. During lunch, Jerry got out his laptop and showed us various software we could use for post-production and methods to combine multiple bracketed photos. This was my first time to be on a photo inclusive trip and I loved it, met some very nice people with the same passion of place and photography -- and I learned a ton."

We just returned from a trip to Jackson Hole where Jerry Patterson was our guide. We had a fabulous time photographing the Grand Teton's and all the various places Jerry took us to. Places we would have never visited because they are off the beaten track. Thanks Jerry for all of your photography expertise and all the great places we visited! We are happily exhausted. Looking forward to touring with you again.

Was a fabulous three days shooting the beautiful Jackson Hole area at the peak of the wildflower season in July 2011. Jerry definitely knows the best spots to photograph with excellent angles and his supreme knowledge of the area. Many of his favorite spots are off the beaten path. His attention to detail is refreshing and he is always willing to help you with your settings or composition. His passion for landscape and wildlife photography is immediately evident. Would highly recommend this professionally organized photo tour, a once in a lifetime photo experience that you will never forget.

"Just recently I went to Jackson Hole Wyoming and met up with Jerry for a three day photographic tour of the area. Well it was not just a tour, it was a lot of lessons in photography and he worked very hard at getting me to so many beautiful locations I couldn't believe it. Just to put it plain and simple, it was a trip of a lifetime for me. I had one of the best times in my life pursuing a new passion."
