This event is in partnership with NASW-NJ:
Eating Disorder Signs, Symptoms and Resources
Presented by Sarah Michalowski, DSW, LCSW, RYT-200, Yin-100
We must take time for self care , so we can continue to help others. You will learn tools for self- care that you can use every day.
Sarah is an RYT-200 and Yin-100 hour trained. She has taken additional advanced level yoga teacher trainings through Aligned Flow with Christy Linson. She has completed additional trainings in different pranayama techniques, Yoga Nidra and is Reiki Level 2 certified. She has taken several different styles and levels of yoga classes, but is drawn to the beginner level classes as she finds it helps her better connect the breath to the mind and body throughout the sequences. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Doctorate in Social Work, she understands the importance of the mind-body connection and holistic treatment. She attended Yoga Teacher Training to combine the therapeutic aspects of yoga with mental health. Sarah has gravitated towards the beneficial aspects of yin and restorative yoga, in which her classes will take you on a healing journey to find your stillness within your body, mind, and spirit with the use of holding simple shapes, music, pranayama, meditations, affirmations, mantras, and mudras.
Currently, Sarah is the Director of Field Education and Assistant Professor with the Undergraduate Social Work Department at Saint Elizabeth University. Through her private practice, she supervises LSW candidates for clinical licensure. In January 2020, Sarah traveled to Matamoros, Mexico to provide holistic trauma support through yoga and art therapy to the asylum seekers. Sarah’s current interests involve the connection between yoga and holistic health with social work/mental health. Other interests include photography, mountain biking, hiking, and paddle boarding.
