This full day, online course is tailored to the football club charity environment and underpinned by the social model of disability, with a strong emphasis on promoting equality and inclusivity.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the increased vulnerabilities of children and young people with disabilities (to abuse, neglect and exploitation)
- Describe some of the specific signs and risk indicators of abuse in disabled children
- Explain the importance of harnessing protective factors and strengthening an inclusive approach to practice
- Explain the additional barriers to ‘speaking up, speaking out’ for children and young people with disabilities – and how we can mitigate these.
- Apply best practice principles in promoting and listening to a ‘disabled child’s voice’
- Actively build a more inclusive and safer environment for disabled children
