This course is tailored specifically for the football club charity environment and delivered online.
Pre-amble:
This half-day enhanced course builds on your previous basic or foundation level training (including the FA Safeguarding Children workshop).
This course aims to both refresh and extend your knowledge and understanding as well as build your confidence in safeguarding the children and young people you work with in the football club charity environment. In essence, this course strengthens the foundation on which to advance your learning and enhance your skills in applying best practice safeguarding principles in your everyday work.
This session will incorporate both formal presentations and an interactive style of delivery, with an opportunity for virtual small group work and discussion.
Learning Outcomes :
- By the end of this online course, attendees will be able to:
- Re-define safeguarding in the context of current legislation and national guidance
- Identify the factors that may increase vulnerability and risk for a child
- Harness the mechanisms that can act as protective factors for a child
- Re-consider the barriers for children, in ‘speaking up, speaking out’ about abuse, and how to mitigate these barriers
- Demonstrate an understanding of professional boundaries to include our responsibilities as role models and people in a relationship of trust
