Let's volunteer, meet Megan Khang and do some good work for the community with Junior Achievement’s 3DE program. Junior Achievement is a nonprofit organization that teaches financial literacy, work, career readiness, and entrepreneurship to students in grades K-12. The 3DE program focuses on high school students to create engaging learning environments that reflect the world in which we live, and empowers students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to unlock greater economic opportunity.
Our volunteering opportunity will be a leadership mentoring event at Waltrip High School, and there’s nothing you need to do to prepare. Just bring yourself, a smile, and be prepared to engage with high school students by talking through discussion topics we will provide: defining college and career aspirations, setting goals, and dealing with challenges.
If you would like to join us, please fill out our RSVP.

ABOUT MEGAN KHANG:
Megan Khang is an American professional golfer on the LPGA and is the first player of Hmong and Laotian descent to do so. Her parents were refugees from the?Vietnam War?from?Laos?and came to the United States with their respective families in the 1970s. Khang started playing golf at age five, and credits her dad as having the most influence on her career. Megan was part of the 2019 Solheim Cup team and finished fifth at the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open.
Growing up in Massachusetts, Megan enjoys snowboarding, hiking, fishing, swimming and beach-going. She has partnered with Golf Fore Africa, whose mission is to bring water to rural areas in Zambia and to end the global water crisis. Megan helps raise awareness and financial support for the organization and plays in their fundraising events each year, hoping to garner enough support to finance her own well in Zambia, which will bring clean water, health and hope to more than 300 people living in poverty.
