Overnight camping trip to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch!
We will leave from the Rox parking lot at 4pm on Friday afternoon, camp at HCR Friday night, climb all day on Saturday, and return to the Rox parking lot by about 9pm on Saturday night, in time for a full Mother's Day the next day! We are renting a van and will provide transpotration for the kids, so parents do not need to drive or attend.
We will buy fast food on the way to and from HCR, so please send your child with enough money to pay for fast food meals on the road. You also need to pack breakfast, snacks, and lunch for your child for the day on Saturday, as well as a large water bottle. We will bring a large water container for water refills at HCR.
We will provide tents and camping pads for this trip. Your child will sleep in a tent with at least one other child. We will let you know beforehand with whom your child will tent for your approval.
See below for a packing list for your child.
This trip is run by Memphis Outdoor Climbing School and is not an official function of Memphis Rox, St. Mary's Episcopal School, or any other organization.

MOCS is a non-profit, and one of our core principles is that everyone should just pay what they can. The full cost for MOCS to guide a single kid at HCR is about $100, including transportation, guide wages, insurance, and climber and guide equipment. Please use the donation option to cover the $100 cost of the trip if you can afford it. If you can afford it, please consider donating a little extra to help pay for folks who can't afford the $100. But If you can't afford to pay the $100, we absolutely want you to come on the trip!
