In a milieu where most fibres are well known; animal fibres like wool, mohair, alpaca and plant fibres like cotton or linen here’s a workshop that will challenge your thinking and extend your concept of fibre.

Wild Plant Cordage. We are surrounded by plants that can make very strong cordage for many uses. This workshop goes through the steps of finding and preparing local wild plant fibres. The cordage is made by hand twisting fibres in to cordage of any length. Participants will prepare and make rope from natural fibres. Cedar bark rope anyone?

Registration $50.00 Supply kit: none.

Duration: 2 hours; 10am – Noon Saturday Sept. 9 . Class limit 15.
