This is a trip to Jamestown Crag open to Rhodes college climbing club members.
This trip is for climbers who are already climbing on lead indoors and want to learn how to lead climb sport routes outdoors. All registrants should be comfortable lead climbing in the gym before registering for this trip.
In addition to the climbing at Jamestown on 3/29 and 3/30, MOCS will teach sessions on outdoor leading at Memphis Rox on 3/6 and 3/20 from 6-8. These sessions will inroduce students to a variety of skills to lead climb outdoors, including movement skills, risk management, basic knots, anchor principles, and the anchor cleaning process. The trip will build on the skills taught at these indoor sessions.
