CIT is a nationally recognized program that teaches law enforcement safe and effective approaches to handling crisis

incidents involving an individual with mental illness. This Public Safety Telecommunicator’s training is a CIT role specific training that will provide dispatchers with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify a mental health caller in crisis and to respond effectively.

 

Here are the learning objectives:

  • To be able to identify a crisis caller
  • To know how to respond and interact with persons who are in crisis
  • To be able to properly dispatch a call involving  a person in crisis
