Veronica Graham, State Public Health Nutritionist, Department of Health and Human Services:
Veronica Graham currently has responsibility for state wide public health nutrition policies, initiatives and partnerships for the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. Her dual role encompasses both emerging work supporting healthy food systems and working across state platforms such as sport and recreation, industry, State Parks and workplaces as well as the more traditional role in supporting nutrition policy and programs. Veronica's career has spanned nearly 3 decades covering, clinical, paediatrics, regional, metropolitan exposure as well as state research and international experience working in the World Health Organisation, Canada and Japan. In her current role, she is passionate about a collaborative approach across all departments and sectors for collective action to improve population nutrition.
Rosanne Freak-Poli, Epidemiologist, Monash University
Rosanne completed her undergraduate studies in 2005 at the University of Adelaide with majors in Statistics, Psychology and Public Health. Rosanne’s PhD in Epidemiology at Monash University was accepted in 2013. Rosanne is currently an NHMRC Early Career Researcher using her epidemiological skills to investigate the relationship between happiness and health.
Sarah White, Director, Quit Victoria
Dr Sarah White has been the Director of Quit Victoria since November 2014. Prior to that she was based in New York as the director of communications at the international Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, and most recently she was the director of communications and fundraising at the Royal Women’s Hospital. Sarah has a PhD in paediatric genetics, and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in cancer before making the switch to communications and public health.
Courtney Lane, Epidemiologist, Microbiological Diagnostics Unit, Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity
Courtney Lane is an epidemiologist based at the Micriobiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory at the Doherty Institute who has recently been working on the surveillance and investigation of outbreaks of antimicrobial resistant bacteria and enteric pathogens and in Victoria. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Microbiology and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales in 2009, she completed a Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne in 2012 and has previously worked in the Epidemiology teams at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services while completing her Masters of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology through the Australian National University in 2014.
