Preeti Manchanda is very excited to bring her homestyle Punjabi food to MAZU! She loves to feed people and enjoys cooking which she has learned just watching her mom in the kitchen since childhood. Preeti was born and raised in Delhi, India. After her schooling in India she went to Japan for higher studies, which gave her the opportunity to introduce Indian cuisine to her friends from all over the world, and to adjust the spice levels! She calls herself a ‘foodie’ who lovesto try on new foods. Her home kitchen is full of Indian, Chinese, Korean and Japanese spices.
Her menu at MAZU includes 5 courses:
1. Golgappe: crispy puri with soft, flavorful filling and spicy and tangy vatan curry pani (spiced water)
2. Mung Sprouts Salad: sprouted mung beans with onion, tomato and spices
3. Daal Makhani (black whole urad + kidney beans curry): black lentils (urad dal) and kidney beans (rajma), slow-cooked with tomatoes, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, and garam masala
4. Shahi Tofu Curry: rich and creamy North Indian curry originally made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) - the term "Shahi" means royal, indicating that this dish has a regal touch
Served with Poori (make your own!) and Cumin Rice
5. Sooji ka Halwa: a traditional Indian sweet made from semolina (sooji or rava), flavored with cardamom and garnished with nuts and raisins.
