PMP Exam Prep — Live, Virtual Instruction with Dr. Dan Furlong, PMP

Why This Course?

If you've put in the years doing real project management work and you're ready to make it official with your PMP certification, this is the course that gets you there. No fluff, no gaps, no need to buy anything else. From day one through exam day, PM One gives you everything — and then some.

This is a complete, soup-to-nuts PMP prep experience taught live by a practicing senior project manager with over 35 years in the field. Every tool, every resource, every practice exam you need is included. No one provides more.

Now Including PMBOK 8th Edition Content

As of July 9, 2026, this course has been updated to include content from the newly released PMI Guide to the PMBOK, 8th Edition — making it one of the most current PMP prep courses available anywhere and ensuring it aligns with the new exam content. You'll also cover the PMI Process Guide (the successor to PMBOK 6th Edition's 49-process framework), ensuring you walk into the exam fully prepared for whatever PMI puts in front of you.

Live and Virtual — The Best of Both Worlds

This course is delivered live and virtually via Zoom, and that's by design. Here's why it works so well:

  • No travel time — students join from across South Carolina and as far as Virginia, Maryland, Florida, and Texas
  • No disruptions — no pivoting between in-person and virtual depending on world events
  • More flexibility — shorter daily lecture blocks give you dedicated time for practice exams, exercises, and reading built right into your week
  • Full recordings of every session, available for 180 days after the course ends, so you can revisit anything you need

The results speak for themselves — students consistently perform exceptionally well on both the practice and actual PMP exams using this format.

Your instructor brings a rare combination of real-world depth and teaching mastery to every session — 35 years of hands-on project management experience, 20 years of dedicated PMP exam prep instruction, and 17 years as a university faculty member. That's not a resume. That's a track record.

What's Included

This is a true all-in-one course. Here is what you get:

  • Five full days of live, virtual instruction from a seasoned senior project manager
  • License to PMI's official online practice tests (a $79 value)
  • Recordings of all sessions, accessible for 180 days after class
  • Proprietary PM One study materials — developed and refined over years of student feedback — that you simply cannot get anywhere else
  • 35 contact hours of project management instruction, satisfying PMI's requirement to sit for the exam
  • Daily practice exams built into the course schedule, plus multiple full practice exams after the course concludes
  • Free access to PMI's practice guides once you join PMI (a must-have for serious exam prep)
  • Option to audit the course a second time at a heavily discounted rate of $350 — perfect for earning PDUs or refreshing your knowledge

Class Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM ET, with a lunch break from approximately 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM Friday: 8:30 AM – Noon ET, followed by a full practice exam

Class will never run past its scheduled end time. If you miss a session, recordings ensure you won't fall behind — though attending live is strongly encouraged. Full attendance across all five days is required to receive credit.

A Note on the 35 Contact Hours

If you already have 35 hours of project management training from a prior course, use those hours to register with PMI now — you can sign up for the exam before class even begins, which we recommend. If this course will provide your 35 hours, you'll be able to submit your PMI exam application on the final day of class. You can begin and save your application in advance so that submission takes just minutes on Friday.

PMI now offers the PMP exam online, allowing you to test from the comfort of your home or office. Hundreds of PM One students have used this option and report an excellent testing experience.

Exam Fees

Class fees do not include PMI exam fees — paying PMI directly is the most cost-effective route and is what most students do. However, if your employer or agency requires that exam costs be bundled into the course fee, we offer an option to include them at registration.

Selecting "Include Exam Fees" at checkout means PM One will provide you with a voucher covering your PMI global membership, PMI Charleston chapter membership, and the PMP exam fee. Please note this option carries a higher total cost than paying PMI directly.

Important: Vouchers must be activated within 90 days of the last day of class — no exceptions and no refunds for expired vouchers. You don't have to sit for the exam within that window, but you do need to apply for membership and the exam before the 90 days are up.

Your Instructor

This course is taught by Dr. Dan Furlong, PMP, PMI-ACP, MBA, DHA, CSM, FHIMSS — one of the most credentialed and experienced PMP prep instructors in the Southeast.

Dan brings over 35 years of hands-on project management experience to every session. He holds or has held faculty positions at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), the College of Charleston, The Citadel, and Walden University, where he teaches graduate-level project management and technology courses. He is the co-author of Healthcare Project Management (1st and 2nd editions) and a longtime volunteer and contributing member with PMI Charleston and PMI Global. Dan has been quoted as a subject matter expert on at least four occasions in PMI Network, PMI's international magazine with a monthly print circulation exceeding 600,000.

When you learn from Dan, you're not learning from someone who teaches project management — you're learning from someone who has lived it for decades.
