Physiological Measurement Day 1 & 2

This event is free to Bromley general practice staff - other HCA's are welcome, but the course will cost £250 per person.

DAY ONE: Getting self-ready for undertaking consultations, consent,PPE, infection prevention and control, confidentiality and GDPR Underpinning theory followed by practical session on BMI measurements and urinalysis. Policies and procedures and accountability.

Our experience has shown emphasis needs to focus on procedures for taking accurate measurements and the recording of the results. Reporting abnormal readings. Roles and boundaries of HCSWs and achieving competence.

DAY TWO: Underpinning knowledge and practical sessions for accurate recording of TPR and BP both automatic and manual (revisits preparation and gaining confidence and competence , and accountability) Learners require opportunity in work to hone the new skills and have their competencies assessed.
