Turn felted recycled wool and cashmere fabric into colourful traditional or pictoral penny rugs. They are wool appliques up to 3 layers thick which are blanket stitched with embroidery pearl cotton (#5). Simple techniques create beauty that is both intricate and charmingly naïve. Students will also include a Canada 150 coin in their work keeping faith with tradition.
Registration: $80.00 Supply Kit: $20.00 Includes patterns, chalk for marking, wool 3 spools of pearl cotton thread, tapestry needle.
Students will bring sharp fabric scissors, straight pins, marker or fabric pen.
Duration: 6 hours; 10am – 4pm Saturday Sept. 9 at the Almonte Arena. Limit of 10 people
